Cake Tastings

Due to my high volume of orders each week, cake tastings / consultations are reserved only for cakes feeding 100+
Cake tastings are 1 dozen cupcakes in up to 4 flavors delivered to you for your convenience. If deposit has not been paid yet, cake tastings are $20 to cover the cost and time of the tasting (only for cakes/cupcakes with 100+ servings). When your cake is officially booked a credit of $20 will be added to your balance. Cake Tastings are only available to customers in the DFW metroplex (within 30 miles of Arlington) 

Contacting Cake Freak

Due to Cake Freak being a sole venture, communication by email is crucial. Stopping to answer phone calls is no longer possible with a large volume of orders. I find email is much easier to send pictures, links, and sketches back and forth to insure a perfect design. It is also a great way to keep a record of everything that is wanted. I'm not refusing phone communication, but I strongly push emails. Most emails are answered early in the morning (before 8am) and at night (after 10pm) due to my busy schedule. The majority of emails sent Friday-Sunday will be answered on the following Monday since these are my busiest days.

Booking Your Cake

I ask for at least a 2 week notice to order your cake. I am only able to take on a limited number of cakes per week to insure the maximum amount of detail and quality to each creation. Last minute orders are normally not possible since the average cake is booked 4-6 weeks in advance. Cakes are not officially booked until a deposit is paid to hold your date. No dates can be held for any reason without a deposit.

Explanation of Prices

Pricing is decided on time, design, details, materials, and support structure. A sculpted cake to feed 15 would not be significantly less than a sculpted cake for 30, due to the same amount of detail in either situation. A cake that stands up would be more expensive due to the wood or metal structures that would need to be built to accommodate a standing cake. "Mini" sculpted cakes are not possible. A larger amount of cake is always needed to begin a sculpted cake, since large amounts are carved away to create the design. Pricing is based on how much cake would be needed at the beginning to sculpt the cake. It is not based on the amount of cake when finished. Please realize that cakes with multiple little figures or details require each one of those details to be handmade seperately, sometimes days or even weeks prior. People don't realize that these things are handmade and sculpted and are shocked with their quote. Grocery stores don't do these kind of cakes for a reason. They are very labor intensive!! My average cake takes about 8 hours to complete. Please keep that in mind

Cakes Without Fondant

ALL cakes are covered in fondant with the exception of smash cakes.
